Offering dog daycare and boarding services in Advance, NC
Hound Housing Doggie Daycare was established in July 2017. We offer dog daycare and boarding in Advance and surrounding areas. As a leading provider of Pet Boarding services and Doggie Daycare, we take pride in offering a clean, fun and safe facility. We are dedicated to serving the needs of our customers each and every day. All of the pets in our care receive a minimum of 6 potty breaks in addition to lots of playtime in our indoor playrooms or outside play yards. We take all breeds and sizes and do not charge for a temperament evaluation into our facility. We do not believe in charging extra for simple services such as extra walks if needed, administering medications, and food add-ins if they are not eating. Every dog in our care receives adequate playtime throughout the day so they are mentally and physically stimulated during their stay with us. We love our furry guests just as much as you do!
There are many benefits to doggie daycare, both for dogs and their parents.
* Socialization: Your dog will get to interact with other dogs in a monitored environment through directed play and free interaction.
* Mental Stimulation: Dogs become bored easily and can be troublesome if they are not engaged in activity. Your dog will leave happy and tired which means a restful night for everyone at home.
*Group Play/Exercise: We have both indoor and outdoor play areas with plenty of space to give your dog room to run and play.
Jessica has over 15 years of experience in pet care and both Jessica and Katie are certified in Pet First Aid by the American Red Cross. Katie is also a former EMT for Forsyth County.
Why doggie daycare?
Daycare provides your dog with the ability to play throughout the day to express normal doggy behavior. They have the opportunity to meet and play with new dogs and learn how to properly socialize and interact with them. Unlike most daycares, we have all day play so your dog will be nice and tired at the end of the day.
We understand that leaving your dog can be stressful so here at Hound Housing , we take pride in providing your dog with a comfortable overnight environment in our spacious kennels. We have large rooms available for larger dogs to stay together or family dogs of 3 or more to stay in the same room. We provide a cot for each dog boarding.
Since we offer daycare when boarding, your dog will be playing hard while staying with us. We offer a departure bath when you pick up for a small fee. $20 for a small dog, $25 for a medium dog, and $30 for a large/long haired dog.
Hound Housing is a comingle facility as long as your dog passes our temperament evaluation.
Daycare is always included in the boarding cost and we do not charge extra for medications if needed. Please bring your dogs current food in a sealed container or in ziplock bags. Medications must be in their original containers. Please label any bedding with your dog's name.

This fee is only on the day of departure.
If you are a new client interested in boarding or daycare, please call to schedule an evaluation PRIOR to making an account. We will not accept any reservations without your dog being scheduled and have PASSED their temperament evaluation. Monday - Sunday: Drop off/Pick up hours: 7am-10am and 3pm-6pm. We close from 10a-3p to the public in order to provide one on one time to the dogs in our care as well as do baths, lunches for the pups, and cleaning.
We do ask that you bring your dog’s current food in a sealed container or zip lock bag to keep them with their regular diet. We do have our house food on hand just in case. If we notice your dog is having trouble eating, we offer pumpkin, chicken stock, and warm water as add-ins at no additional cost.
We require your dog(s) to be up to date on bordatella, distemper/parvo, and rabies vaccinations per the requirements from the NC Agricultural Department. Please bring an updated copy of their vaccines from your vet upon arrival or your vet can fax them to us at 336-464-2787. We also require that your dog be on flea preventative year-round. We highly recommend getting the bordatella vaccine every 6 months vs annually.
If you would like your dog to attend daycare while they are staying with us, we do require an evaluation that takes about 20-25 minutes. We introduce your dog to the group and evaluate their behavior based on body language and temperament. Your dog must be spayed or neutered if 6 months or older in order to attend group play.
We understand that your pets are family so its important that we know if your dog needs medications while in our care. We will gladly administer any medications your dog may need during their stay. We do ask that their medications be in the original container so that we have detailed information about the medication. Unlike most facilities, we do not charge extra to administer any medications.
If your dog is boarding with us, you can bring any safe toys for them to have in their suite at night. We do not allow raw hides due to choking hazards and stomach issues they may cause. We do provide cots but you can bring their bed or a blanket to make them feel more at home.
We take safety very seriously here at Hound Housing so please have all pets on a leash when dropping off for daycare or boarding.
Your dog has access to water 24/7 while at our facility. There are large bowls of fresh water in the playroom inside and out that are filled several times throughout the day. Also, all dogs have an individual bowl of water in their suite if they’re boarding with us. Your dog may be tired and the increase in activity may also increase your dog’s water intake. Don’t be alarmed if they want to drink more water than usual when they get home.
In the event that your dog requires medical attention, we will refer to your contact list and make every attempt to reach you or your emergency contact person. If we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact and we feel your dog needs medical attention, we will transport your pet to their regular veterinarian, if close by, to ensure continuity of care. If your veterinarian is not near our facility, we will take them to The Country Vet in Mocksville NC. If we believe that the situation is urgent or if your dog needs care after regular hours, we will take your pet to the closest veterinary emergency clinic which is Carolina Vet Specialists.
Yes. We want to maintain a pest-free environment. All dogs are required to have flea and tick prevention
Just as people get colds, so do dogs. In dogs, they are typically called “colds” or coughs “Canine Cough” or “Kennel Cough”. Canine Cough or Kennel Cough are common names for tracheobronchitis, a contagious upper-respiratory condition caused by the Bordetella virus, adenovirus, or parainfluenza virus. The main symptoms that dogs get are a cough, runny nose and sometimes sneezing.
Although we require that all dogs that come to our facility are current on their Bordetella vaccinations, the vaccines do not protect against every strain of these types of infections, much like a human flu vaccine will not protect you from getting a cold.
